When the debut MISS CRAZY release came out back in 2005 it got an amazing 5 out of 5 Stars on RockEyez. I knew this band was explosive and would reach the kingdom of stardom but as members changed and the music industry fluctuated MISS CRAZY dissolved although that didn’t stop lead vocalist Markus Allen Christopher as he moved on to FREAK SHOW, with some highly acclaimed musicians by his side. FREAK SHOW released one CD and then internal problems and tour commitments from its members made the band disappeared too. Well in 2012 MISS CRAZY rose from the ashes once again to release a new offering named “GRIP”. So let’s see if they have made up for some lost time.

“Make It Go Away” starts things off and I can tell you right here and now the musicianship on this disc is the best MISS CRAZY have ever had. I’m taking nothing away from past members but Craig Launer is masterful with his slicing guitar work. Chris Jordan is an entity behind the kit and bass master Chris Stringari brings the thunder to the bottom end. Markus Allen Christopher is known as the chameleon of rock as he has a vocal range to make the heavens open.  Getting back to the track it’s hard rock in the purest of forms and the thing that really drives the song is the harmonies. I love good harmonies and MISS CRAZY are masters of harmonies here.

“Nothing Suits Me” has killer rhythms reminiscent of past MISS CRAZY tracks but Craig Launer sure the hell sounds like Ace Frehley on the track and Chris Jordan, I can’t say enough as his drumming is pure gold. “True Blood” is another killer track that sounds like it could have been taken from past greats CINDERELLA.

On the track “Hail Bruce Lee” you can you feel the AC/DC vibe and this is one of my favorite tracks on the disc. It’s mellow and pulverizing at the same time. Listen to Launer’s guitar work. It’s AMAZING!

“All About You” is the song that puts “GRIP” on the top of my list. It’s the perfect song that has all the elements of vintage MISS CRAZY. Christopher’s vocals are top-notch from the subtle whispers to nailing it down with power.

“Fear” ends the disc and it’s a fast-paced track that shows some diversity in sound for the band. I enjoyed the power chords mixing with the leads of Launer and overall there is not a bad track on the entire disc. As I mentioned, the musicianship is superior with this line-up so support these guitar and hopefully we will get another MISS CRAZY release at the end of 2013.
