After 30 plus years and 24 albums, what’s left to be said about MOTÖRHEAD that hasn’t already been written? As consistent as the rising tides, MOTÖRHEAD returns yet again with another dose of sheer metal volume. “ Motörizer ” is forged in the same fires that brought us the recent classics “Kiss Of Death” and “Hammered”. Returning producer Cameron Webb keeps the mix simple and crisp, without cluttering up the sheer power of the tracks.
OK, maybe there aren’t any true surprises here, but the band is delivering exactly what is expected of them. And that’s a beautiful thing. Relying heavily on the classic MOTÖRHEAD formula, they bulldoze through new material “When The Eagle Screams” and “Buried Alive”, leaving the listener blissfully auditorially assaulted. No other band comes to mind that has such unadulterated sincerity and sonically purity. And at 60 (!), lyrically Lemmy hasn’t lost any of his piss & vinegar either. And one day he will be recognized for it, too. Guaranteed.
Though it doesn’t quite reach the brilliance of my personal, latter-day faves “Bastards” and “Inferno”, “Motörizer” can definitely stand proud against anything in their immense catalog. This is true heavy metal. Pure and simple. Be sure to catch them live this summer with HEAVEN & HELL and JUDAS PRIEST as they’re showing no signs off slowing down and proving they still have more to offer than most acts out there. 4 Stars. Buy it!
