Back in 1996 this band was going by the name of Requiem, they were gathering their legions of fans and making their trek to Mecca. Then Requiem split-up and reformed as the band Norther. Both founding members Petri Lindroos and Toni Hallio are still together for the latest release “Solutionz.”

“Day Zero” has the feel of 3 Inches of Blood. The keyboards by Tuomas Planman on “Day Zero” are set back but give the song depth. The ripping guitar playing by Ranta is eye opening. Norther knows how to pump out the power on this outstanding opening track.

“YDKS” is another killer track as the guitar attacks and will set your mind on fire. Petri Lindroos melodic and harsh vocals fit perfect with the style of music played by Norther. The production on “Solutionz” is perfection. The keyboards throughout the CD give Norther a more unique sound than other speed metal bands.

The last track “Chasm” is the highlight track here. The song starts off slow with echoing keyboards with Petri Lindroos sounding like Coby Dick of Papa Roach with a power metal vibe. Great tune!!!
