United States has never been a country that has embraced power metal like the European countries filled with fanatical fans drooling over their favorite icons.

Well REVERENCE is trying to change the mindset of the riddle-filled, repetitive music scene of the States. REVERENCE has just released their debut of high-powered metal titled "When Darkness Calls". These guys are nothing new to the scene as their history of making prior bands stand tall with the likes of TOKYO BLADE, JACK STARR'S BURNING STARR, SAVATAGE and CRIMSON GLORY to name a few.

The disc starts with the title track "When Darkness Calls" which has the flare of LOUDNESS musically with a vocal style of HITTMAN's Dirk Kennedy but the range of Todd Michael Hall can lead to an array of high profile vocalists even reaching the God-like Chandler Mogel of OUTLOUD.  REVERENCE songs have the perfect balance of power that touches on so many ranges from MANOWAR to LOUDNESS, just check out "Bleed For Me" as the harmonies set the mood for a killer tune.

"Too Late" which is the first single and video off "When Darkness Calls" is a bit more commercial than others on the disc but you will hear why once you get a taste of  REVERENCE.

"Monster" shows the dual guitars of Bryan Holland and Pete Rossi are a force in REVERENCE, these guys go off with some blazing licks which really is a major highlight throughout the disc. Listening to "Monster" I heard some resemblance of riffs from WRATH OF KILLENSTEIN's"The Raptus", which is one of my favorite tunes.

"Revolution Rising" is one of my favorite tunes here as the power chords and slashing lead guitar work make a huge impact. Todd Michael Hall hits the high octaves but the JUDAS PRIEST / IRON MAIDEN licks will blow you away. This is sure to be a crowd anthem.

"After The Leaves Have Fallen" is a melodic power ballad where Todd Michael Hall shines. This is the kinda song that rises above and fans wait to hear. It could be the one to bring power metal fans out of hiding and make REVERENCE a new entity.

Ending the disc is a slap in the face awaking with "Vengeance Is Mine". It's a harsh, heavy, and volatile in-your-face metal tune that has killer background vocals. If you're into classic power metal this is the one for you.
