Paul holy shit! Man you rip on the opening track “Strange Messiah” that’s a slap in the face of pop culture, I was expecting a more mellowed out Sabu with the new release but heck Sabu is shredding. The man himself swings a killer axe and talk about vocals all others can take a back seat.

Check out his pipes on “Dangerous Behavior” and the similarities he and Sammy Hagar and David Coverdale possess. The catchy hooks and production is by far some of the best I’ve heard and for a guy like Paul Sabu who was named by Kerrang in 2005 having two of the best top twenty-five albums of all time keeps the flow going with “Strange Messiah”.

Paul is truly a class act with threads of brilliance throughout the album and the screaming guitars sears especially on “Ashes of Wrong”. One of my favorite tunes is “Blow By Blow” That has an AC/DC accent even with the Brian Johnson screams in the beginning. I am not going to sit here and tell you this is the best Sabu release but it does have some hard hitters and if you tell me the guitar work between Paul and his specials guests are below average, there is something seriously wrong with you.

I read reviews since “Strange Messiah” was released outside the US in late 2007, but Locomotive release will be this month and I am sure fans of melodic rock and hard rock will be waiting to add this one to their collection. I read where Paul’s vocals are a little harsh, did you ever think that might have been his intentions to get a raw sound this time around. I particularly like it, didn’t they say the same thing about Elvis... Well fans of Sabu will surpass the heavier vocals and see thru the light to the brilliance of “Strange Messiah”.
