With the dawn of the ages and a throwback to the glam era what band dares to reincarnate those days in music? Only Hollywood, California’s SALEMS LOTT has the balls to scrape the ashes to morph itself into a high velocity entity in music. You would think the circus came to town when you lay your eyes on the members but don’t get fooled by gimmicks. These guys pad their self as demons from hell but musically kick some serious ass. The band formed in 2013 releasing one EP in 2015 and playing to a sold out show at the legendary Whiskey A Go-Go on the Sunset Strip. The bands outrageous stage show already has them banned from the famous Viper Room but that did not stop them opening up for LOUDNESS and Marty Friedman.
Recently SALEMS LOTT released their second EP Mask of Morality (Pt.1) with three tracks.
Let’s check it out.
The opening track “Enigma” has the same neck-snapping, head banging adrenaline rush as a hammer to the brain. Fast-paced rolling drums by master drummer Tony F. Corpse and the superb slicing guitar work of Kay set the track on fire.
On the next track, “When Heaven Comes Down”, Kay sets the mood with some fine guitar work. Lead Vocalist Monroe Black has hints of the classic Udo Dirkschneider of ACCEPT and the song has those classic sing-along lyrics.
Track three is a cover of the 1985 song “You Can’t Hide From The Beast Inside” by AUTOGRAPH, as featured on the “Fright Night” movie soundtrack. If you’re not familiar with the song you’re gonna hear something special by the boys in SALEMS LOTT. The song explodes with ecstasy; massive riffs by Kay and Monroe Black’s masterful vocals are extreme ala Blackie Lawless. This is one you will be listening to over and over again. I am sure this will be a highlight for their live shows. Love it!
