A band that’s been around for 24 years has to be doing something right or something they love! SARASIN, a Canadian based hard rock band has been putting it to the grind.
This is a first time for me and it was a pleasure to listen to guys that stick to their guns.
SARASIN ‘s release “Daggers-Lust Disgust” is nothing short of kickass rock and roll the way it should be. “In America,” the first cut is a hard driving, down and dirty tune that gets you interested to hear more! More-, “Woken @Noon” has a psychedelic feel mixed with heavy guitar work that works well.
SARASIN has something I can’t put my finger on, Oh yea talent!
The CD progresses nicely with good tunes like “The Last Word” and “Keep Running”
Phil Naro the vocalist in the band has what it takes to make this band solid and very interesting with power, range and well placed melody lines. Guitarist Greg Boileau and Johnny Rogers are in synch and not shy in producing fantastic riffs while letting it rip where needed, not to mention a very cool sound. The rhythm section consisting of Rob Grant on Bass and Roger Banks on drums put the band in another dimension with rock solid grooves, interesting fills and off beat sweep arounds .Mix all these guys together and you get one hell of a band. Check out “Keep Running,” A Kiss “God of Thunder” groove but with a healthy twist. SARASIN closes the CD with “”The Parting”a very cool acoustic ballad with a little harmonica mixed in.
Originality, diversity and conviction to their roots make SARASIN a worthwhile listen. Canada has always produced some great music and that includes Sarasin.
Rock On!
