Rockeyez has been working together with Lion Music for some time now, and many of the products from Lion are instrumental. I feel you really have to like that kind of music in order to sit and listen to a full-length CD of such material. What Lion is all about is bringing new artists to the height of awareness. They want to give that special band a chance to be heard, hoping that in the mists is that hidden gem.

Well, Seventh Wonder is that band, and their new release “Waiting in the Wings” will blow you away. After releasing two demos and a full-length CD “Become” (2005) to rave reviews, they are back with a new release. In the mold of Pyramaze and Dream Theater, Seventh Wonder shed their skin with overwhelming development and bombard you with high- flying riffs (Johan Liefvendahl) and a voice (Tommy Karevik) only the heavens could give us. This is a well-written and recorded CD and will shun the traditional standard of progressive rock. This is an output of material the likes of which I have not heard in some time, and the exquisite way each member emphasizes his instrument is a class act.

You want jaw dropping? Check out “Taint the Sky” and the vocal power of Karevik. All I can say is, “Lance King who”? Yeah, Karevik could be crowned as one of the best vocalists on the scene, and the mix of hard-edged riffs slamming up against the bass lines is phenomenal, and the perfection between the killer drums (Johnny Sandin) and vibrant keyboards (Kyrt) gives you the total package. Some progressive music is a bit too classical for my ear, but Seventh Wonder does a great job of mixing styles from hard rock to progressive and brings in hints of Asia and Styx as well.

“Not an Angel.” is one of those songs that hits you like a right fist, with tapping and technical guitar work that is over-the-top. Another track called “Devil's Inc.” brings chart-topping, melodic, catchy lyrics and magic that needs to be heard. Seventh Wonder is a band that needs some major exposure, because this is a great CD that should be on everyone’s list.
