Back in 2005, we received our first taste of SISTER SIN which we gave three stars in our review. We recognized the great potential, and they have been making a name for themselves and trying to uproot some of the top names out of Sweden, they should overcome the shadow of bands such as CRASHDÏET and CRAZY LIXX with the new 2007 release “Smash The Silence.”

“Smash The Silence” brings to mind MÖTLEY’s “Shout At The Devil” a classic in the metal world; all five tracks drive those killer riffs to another dimension. You would think listening to SISTER SIN you were almost hearing outtakes from the early days of CRÜE with even hearing Liv the female vocalist having sounds of Vince Neil and even hitting chords of GRACE SLICK, now that’s classic.

The opening track kicks ass with some of the best background vocals I’ve ever heard and lead singer Liv makes her presences known by the way she takes over your soul. Fast clean and perfection can only describe SISTER SIN. Not many female vocalists can deliver the goods and “Hostile-Violent” shows the band is on the path to success. “Breaking New Ground” is another nonstop killer tune the crowds will be screaming for an encore with horns up.

Hold on you haven’t heard anything yet, the gold plated tune is about to spin “On Parole” excellent!!! If you are looking to hear a phenomenal song this is it. Roaring guitar work by Jimmy is superb and you basically cannot hit a caliber of a tune like this one unless your band is called SISTER SIN. This is called Greatness; the song burns.

“Love/Hate” has the feel of “Knock 'em Dead Kid” by CRÜE yet adding the SISTER SIN touch. I knew the band had great potential but I did not expect this. This is an amazing disc and if you like music that drives your sensations to the brink of craziness coupled with soaring guitar riffs, phenomenal background vocals, and the tantalizing beauty of Liv that can turn your head and then she knocks you out with her vocal power, you’re in the right place. I say pick this one up immediately!
