Is that a beer can that I hear being popped open on the first track? Denmark’s premiere heavy metal band STARRATS are down right nasty metal madmen.
“Demon” is a great opening track that has a feel of early Skid Row, AC/DC and Guns n Roses. Mixing whipping guitars, screaming vocals and some great melodies, Søren Nico Adamsen sounds like a raw version of Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) that rips up his vocal cords.
Dennis Post letting loose on “Warrior” reminds me of Brad Gillis (Night Ranger and Ozzy Osbourne). “Stars & Lines” is another tremendous tune that will set you on fire. It has that raunchy street sound often heard in RATT and SPREAD EAGLE.
There are so many good songs on this CD - It just totally rocks. The band is not just all about the glories of being a party animal. Check out “Enlightenment Years” - it has a good balance and is also melodic, resulting in a killer tune.
Funny shit on track thirteen results in a short vocal melody by Nico which you have will have to hear for yourself. That track runs right into a STARRATS speed version of Billy Idol’s “Dancing with Myself.”
This is a killer debut from the boys from Denmark. STARRATS is working on a new CD as we speak and we hope to get an advance before the release date.
