STEALING DECEMBER started back in March 2005, making their way to countless rehearsals and show dates, gathering their fan base nationwide.
Winning the 2006 Zippo Hot Tour proved one major point, a stepping-stone to reaching the promise land.
Hailing from Delaware is just a small piece of the pie they have already conquered. By doing so also lead the band in helping out with the Autism Speaks benefit show. I applaud these boys at a young age for not only networking their talent but also helping communities in the area.
Getting to the bands debut release ”Put It To Flame” with eleven hard churning tunes, mixing some alternative sounds with hard-edged rock will put STEALING DECEMBER on the fast track. The opening tune “Story” hits hard right from the opening note and smothers you with guitar latten hooks and charismatic vocals by Brandon Langer. SD has the essentials to rock the house yet bring a sentimental calmness to a crowd. The total package here is that the band is not your typical one dimensional alternative band but a melting pot of powerpop, rock, alternative with a slight hint of the past; new wave style. I can see these boys being part of this years Warped, they’re a perfect fit to gather a huge crowd.
One of the highlight tracks “Dead Before Twenty-One” is one of the directional changed showing the versatility SD possesses. The track has hints of 3 DOORS DOWN with the driving guitar and classic harmonies, showing brilliance that makes this track stand out.
“Knocked Out Loser” is another killer track that has the spirit of classic 80’s rockers. As the volume level elevates, and the drums by Michaelangelo Ristano make a huge presence, Brandon Langer’s guitar work goes off the hook making this a true crowd pleaser.
Ending “Put it To Flame” is a memory-burning tune called “Martha Washington.” What an ending that puts drive and passion on a high level to an amazing debut by STEALING DECEMBER, this is one CD that must be added to your collection. Check out these boys on their official site and their MySpace.
