“Over My Dead Body” is the new solo release by master veteran vocalist Tony Mills. The concept record was partially co-written by Robert Sall of WORK OF ART fame so you know I expected it to shine with those two in the mix. The opening track “Time Won’t Wait” is pure melodic gold. Mills vocals are extreme yet caressing with every note. The song flows so well and the guitars are massive and will have your mind flowing in different directions and with AOR vets Paul Sabu and Eric Ragno co-writing on the track it doesn’t hurt. Track two “28 Flights” pumps up the levels and is fast-paced where the music of keys and guitars take presence.

“We Should Be On By Now” is by far extreme and such a classic tune that Mills vocals shine with power. Truly a master as Mills octave range puts him in a class of his own.  Suspense and drama ensue with the beginning narration of “No Love Lost” giving the sense of an eighties style song but comes full circle as a classy concept song that AOR and rockers will adore. In the back of your mind it has many comparisons to the mighty days of QUEENSRYCHE.

“Gate 21” is another killer tune that puts Mills on a high level. The guitars once again are unique and show greatness with quick solos and soaring highs. No denying Mills is an entity and when he hits those high notes there’s no one better. “My Death” settle’s into a melodic gem that’s all about technique. Soft, slow yet a powerful tune (and one of my favorite on the album).

“Bitter Suite” has essences of QUEEN with the collaboration of layered vocalists and its almost operatic style and is surely a change of pace. “Northern Star” gives a taste of HELLOWEEN. This amazing tune shows MILLS is a master of vocal disguise with the diversity he brings to the disc. The tunes have a multitude of changes in music and styles and I’m lovin’ it!

“4 in The Morning” blows my mind with all the memories that come to mind when listening. The song surely has that chart-topping sound of many big artists of different eras in music. Just a pleasure listening to songs like this where your mind can run rampant.

“Somewhere In London” will have melodic rockers heart’s pumping as I loved the amazing keys tapping in the background and the suave background vocals hitting key notes.

Ending the disc “Free Spirit” is a power ballad of sort that shows the range of Mills and a top quality musician Tony is.
