I love these boys! They’re just a killer bunch of guys coming out of London, England. They have a great mix of sleaze with a melodic style, with a splash of Johnny Rotten for flavor. This is the second release we’ve heard from them and they just keep on getting better. “How Rude She Was” is a fantastic tune, thanks in part to the heavy British vocals of Donny Tourette, and the catchy, sing-a-long chorus has HIT written all over it. A video of the boys havin’ a good time is included on the disc, and really adds to the songs.
“Novello’s Bordello” has the beat of The Knack’s “My Sharona” combined with some risky lyrics: “…get down, suck my dick you lowdown dirty whore/ that’s what makes me love you more…” I don’t think you’ll be hearing that one on the airwaves, but Towers Of London still pull off a great song with “Novello’s Bordello.”
The last track on this album won’t be on the radio either; entitled “Fuck It Up,” it is a true pub classic. I can see a crowded pub, mugs in the air, everyone chanting along with this tune. My advice to you, get drunk, have a good time, and sing alone with the sleazy greatness that is Towers of London.
