One of the premier acts in the twentieth century has just released their 4th studio album called “Only Through The Pain” with eleven high profile tracks. TRAPT is not your typical rock alternative band; they are one of the bands that take meaning with lyrics and music to give their fans the best product out there.

Their opening track “Wasteland” has tasty guitar cords ala the THE POLICE yet adding dept in the range of NICKLEBACK and HINDER. Track two “Who's Going Home with You Tonight?” shows a slight melodic side yet still slashing the power with good harmonies and an uplifting chorus.

One of my personal favorite tracks is “Contagious” with the subtle voice of Chris Brown. It shows during the first minute that Brown is a class act and has motivational powers. He brings you into his “house” and makes you an instant TRAPT follower.

Another reason why TRAPT is successful has to be Robb Torres’ guitar work bringing the sounds of past greats like Andy Summers (THE POLICE) and The Edge (U2) alive with his unique guitar style.

I mean the first few tracks are killer but “Black Rose” busts loose with a powerful and delightful song of sheer perfection. I loved this track and the musicianship drives the song for the long ball… simply amazing.

Lyrically “Only One in Color” takes the gold… when you are in love it doesn’t make a difference what color, nationality or religion… “You are the shinning light of my life; you changed my life from simplistic to excitement. You are the only one in color”. The music and especially the guitar have you spellbound and thinking with your imagination looking to the sky. This is another tremendous song!

Listening to “Only Through The Pain” and remembering the tracks, the eleven songs went by so quick, I had to listen a few more times before I could put it down. This is one to add to your collection for sure!
