Metal is on the way back to where it belongs and Indy labels like Black Top Fade Records are making that movement a reality. Dusting off the old vinyl and making true strides in the right direction.

Bands you would never get to hear but have rock in their blood are reaching levels of extreme pressure. Pressure built up from the non-existence of any new bands to latch onto.

TRIGGER RENEGADE is one of those bands that pound the vessels of vintage rock moving it into the modern age. I love these boys who are reminiscent of L.A. Guns, IRON MAIDEN and yet still holding that vintage edge of GOLDEN EARRING.

Back in 2005, they released “Shootout” an E. P., which was a 7" Single on vinyl, so this is sure to be a collector’s item and in 2007, we now have “Destroy Your Mind.”

“Robbin' Trains” is the first track that sticks out in my mind with the generation gap between classic and modern. It has the classic sound with the heartbeat of today’s rockers such as IRON MAIDEN. Great track that just melts the ear drums.

“Nothing But Trouble” you will understand when I say GOLDEN EARRING with this track. Blake Meahl’s vocals are amazing with the raw energy he possesses. I am sure guitarists McCoy Gurmin and Ian Alden listened to some of mom and dad’s records back in the day with the licks they reel off.

“Anthem for the Dead” reminds me of one of my all time favorite vocalists named Dicken Crowther who fronted BROKEN HOME back in the late seventies. “Anthem for the Dead” is a great ballad and Meahl totally shines. I am telling you don’t let this band go, support these boys and don’t let them go unnoticed.

Check out “Straight Shooter” and the guitar shredding of Gurmin, the man has such an incredible knowledge of manipulating the strings, making the songs come to life. “Destroy Your Mind” must be added to your collection as it wreaks stardom.
