'Twisted' the season to be jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la! A collection of Christmas tunes-- Why not?
To commemorate Twisted Sister's 30th anniversary, the boys from Long Island have released a collection of classic Christmas songs done in typical Sister style! The opening track, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” has a very interesting intro, and I will leave it up to you to listen. “O Come, All Ye Faithful” is sung to the music of “We’re Not Gonna Take It”…very cool! The next few tracks are pretty much the standards, sung around a bowl of eggnog. Of course, just like any good eggnog they have a bit of a kick to them!
The featured guest on “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” is none other than rocker Lita Ford. “Let It Snow” comes down like it should be-hard. My favorite of this collection would definitely be “Heavy Metal Christmas,” a.k.a. “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” I'd like to see this played in jukeboxes this holiday season! Forget Adam Sandler's “Hanukkah Song-” "Heavy Metal Christmas" has the making of a true classic, or should I say sing-a-long! Being a Twisted Sister fan since their emergence (when a bunch of us drove over from Jersey to catch the boys at the old Rock Palace in Staten Island), we know that Twisted Sister always guarantees us a good time. Fan or not, if you are a metal head, this will make you tolerate the ride to grandma’s house on Christmas Day! No bah, humbug here!
