Wet Animal has some history with the personnel of the band… Rick Wartell and Jeff Olson formerly with the legendary Chicago doomsters Trouble are making their come back in Wet Animal. The style is a bit different going with the Alice in Chains sound with a hard edge raw guitar sound of Black Sabbath. Shane Pasqualla has hints of Don Dokken and Jeff Keith (Tesla) to his voice and with the mixture of music it is a great combination. The production is not the greatest and with a bigger budget, the sound quality might have been better, but I like the uneven keel of the echo on the guitar work by Wartell that gives the music a ‘live’ vibe. The feel of the music has a slight country backwoods sound similar to Marshall Tucker. “Let Behind” has a total flare of acoustic style Tesla.

I feel Wet Animal is headed in the right direction but needs some kind of spark to make any kind of impact.
