Bellowing from the symphonic keyboards and the chats of angels to evil you never know what direction a Goth band is going. WHERE ANGELS FALL has a distinctive sound with over the edge power but for me programming in music is a turn off, although it has become a common factor. Programming gives a band like WHERE ANGELS FALL a full sound and helps give the effect of an orchestra.

Eirin Bendigtsen vocals are clean but the music masks the vocals that are set more as a compliment to the musicians. I mean I was listening to track four 'Dies Irae' and I didn't even realize that I missed the second and third track! I'm sorry to say I just didn t feel the strong vibe of success, even though the music is good I couldn't catch the wave.

The first track is set apart from all the others 'Edge of Sanity' had the band kicking it in first gear showing some emotion. Lifting my spirits hoping the remainder of the CD would pull it altogether. 'Hollow Save Myself' is turning the corner for me; the CD is getting stronger with each track. André Bendigtsen guitar work is traditional rock with power chords, nothing over the top.

André Bendigtsen pulls double duty also handling the programming, which is admirable, but nothing flashy. All in all "Illuminate" is an advanced release nothing special, not bad at all, just something that doesn't hit home.
