WORTH DYING FOR is a band that came from the youth ministry of Calvary Temple in Modesto, CA. The voices of the album change with each song; either Christy Johnson or Sean Loche. Christy is the wife of a local youth pastor in the area of Modesto. She has a certain drive in her voice like Lacey Mosley of FLYLEAF does, keeping the songs, "Die to Live" and "Crazy" alive. Being a drummer, I first gave listen to the drum riffs and sound. The overall sound of the album is solid. The guitars are clean but keep an edge that is unique to their sound. The CD was mixed well which makes it very easy to listen to.
The first few tracks of the album gives it a powerful intro into their beliefs with powerful lyrics like;
"Singe the pride that's deep inside
Take my life
Revive my soul I want You Lord
To take control"
The album seems to lose energy too quickly but still moves into a slower worship feel. The only problem with this album is the cliché lyrics. I don't feel anything strong listening to it like I do with SKILLET'S "Those Night's." However, the band keeps a unique sound that I can see getting them very far.
