One man alone cannot surpass history in the evolution of the guitar but one man alone has risen to the top world renowned… Yngwie J. Malmsteen! The man himself has over shadowed some of the greats and has taken the guitar world by storm. You just mention Yngwie to any guitar hero and the words "innovating superstar" immediately come to mind. Yngwie‘s new release "Relentless" has just hit with a major impact as guitarists worldwide scurry to hear what’s next from the master.

"Relentless" starts off with a smooth guitar solo intro with some tasty keyboards. The fluttering guitar sways back and forth with killer chops… this is the master at his best, amazing! Track two "Critical Mass" has an Arabic flare with mesmerizing greatness. Tim "Ripper" Owens is the perfect fit for Malmsteen yet in past releases, Owens has had his ups and downs but on "Relentless" he shines.

Time after time you think the music community would get tired of Mamlsteen’s guitar but he always seems to come up with new innovating structures. Check out "Shot Across The Bow." The technique is stunning and the track is phenomenal.

Time after time you think the music community would get tired of Mamlsteen’s guitar but he always seems to come up with new innovating structures. Check out "Shot Across The Bow." The technique is stunning and this particular track is phenomenal.

"Look At You Now" flashes back to early vintage Yngwie, a song that actually has a rock anthem theme ala ALCATRAZZ. The vocals once again by Owens are amazing. Yngwie’s last release "PERPETUAL FLAME" was excellent but he takes it to a whole other level with "Relentless".

Has Yngwie taken to a monastery or found a higher power on "Enemy Within?" In past releases, Malmsteen basically overthrew the basics and marched to his own drummer but on "Relentless," Yngwie went back to his roots and I’m not saying he is more laid back, I just feel that with Owens at the helm it has a feel or sense more like a band project. Yngwie shines on every track but also gives way to Owens.

My favorite track "Caged Animal" is classic, vintage Yngwie. A true rock song that shows versatility rules! One of the reasons for this being my favorite track is that it shows a style that you can combine superior guitar solos with a classic song and not over do it. Another killer track is "Tide Of Desire." I love how the strings elevate and with the additional keyboards of Nick Marino, the song has that full bodied sound. Yngwie’s guitar sings on this track… simply amazing!

"Adagio B flat minor Variation" is a smooth track to romance your loved one by the fireplace with, just a phenomenal instrumental that bellows greatness. Let’s rock with "Blinded!" Yngwie raises Hell with this one... fast strong and to the point, a massive eruption! Then listen to the keys on "Cross To Bear" and how they blend with the guitar to perfection. Yngwie’s guitar shinning with keys gives this track almost a full orchestra effect. And finally, got a "need for speed?" Then just check out "Arpeggios From Hell" and be mesmerized. What a killer release from the master himself Yngwie Malmsteen. This one has to be included in your collection.
