As a local NJ hero Damon Marks is best known as touring guitarist for Alicia Keys’ “Freedom Tour” and also as a member of major label recording artists LIPSTICK MAGAZINE. As Damon Branches out to a new venture he will release a solo project fully inspired by his late brother and best friend Joseph, who passed away January 4th 2011. Damon went through a turbulent emotional year of ups and downs do to the loss and used that as the drive to fully finish writing the entire album. Vocalist Chris Minor (TIME WILL TELL) is featured on the release. There will be a total of 8 tracks on “Back To Good”, which will be available late spring 2012 both digitally and in a physical disc release.

For now here’s a teaser review of five tracks.

The opening track “Paranoid” has a great power pop sound mixing GREEN DAY with the more mainstream rock sound of 3 DOORS DOWN. But the essence that pushes the track over the edge is Chris Minor (TIME WILL TELL) as well as the riveting riffs of Marks.

“Curse” really gives you a great feeling and an aura that makes you want to sing along. I loved the song and feel it would make a great featured single off the release. “One More Night” brings a power ballad about lost love and a sentimental feeling of a broken heart. Nice smooth tune that tugs on your heart!

“Runaway” is another good tune that has that traditional alternative/modern rock sound and ending the disc is an acoustic/electric delight called “No Easy Way”.

I really enjoyed this one because the great lead vocals, tasty background vocals and certainly Marks shows his technical chops as a guitar slinger here. It all makes me look forward to the actual release in a couple months!
