Oh man, New York City is for fun and a musician’s dream. Many years ago when I was a regular at ‘The Cat Club’ and picking up records on Bleecker Street at St. Marks Sound and It’s Only Rock ’n’ Roll. Punk, new wave and glam were a great scene. Since those days glam has faded away but with the resurgence of many Swedish bands New York is being revived and leading the march is Lovemaker. 

Their music is pure pop bubblegum with your typical basic chords and vibrant vocals in the style of early Paul Stanley (KISS) and Phil Lewis (Girl) now with L.A. Guns. Their look is right out of the mold of vintage Motley CruË and London. I am not totally sold yet that the movement has hit the USA the way it has in Sweden but Lovemaker is getting things hot in the USA. “Bubble Gum Lover” has the sound of The Ramones “Beat on the Brat” and if Lovemaker can set a fire under the ass of sleaze metal in the USA the more power to ya! Let’s rock the way it use to be.
