Japan has some major kick-ass bands and Wizards' Hymn is one of them.

The two tracks that were sent are fantastic with one draw back - production! The vocals are too shallow on “The Call from the Unknown.” Otherwise Tsutomu Ariga shreds with ripping guitar work that will make other guitarists cringe with envy.

The production on “The Circle of Fate” is even worse as the drums are tinny sounding and the guitar sounds like it's in an echo chamber. Kimiko Shirao vocals are then brought up somewhat sounding better. She sounds like Doro with a slightly higher pitch. However, I must say that Tsutomu Ariga’s guitar work still kicks ass even with the poor production.

My advice is for them to go back and remix the two tracks and then they will have a good demo.

Band Lineup:
  • Kimiko Shirao - Vocals
  • Tsutomu Ariga - Guitars
  • Toshimasa Kato - Bass
  • Kensuke Imai - Drums

Track Listing:
  1. The Call from the Unknown
  2. The Circle of Fate
