Where have these boys been my whole life? A true heartbeat of music comes in the form of Crystal Pistol. The Canadians are invading America with their kick-ass style of music in the vein of Backyard Babies and Gemini Five.
“Watching You Bleed” is a rockin’ anthem that explores your inner-self like a raunchy Alice Cooper tune. If these boys come to your town lock your daughters up because they will bring the sleaze in a style that Americans aren’t use to seeing. Mik Ireland sounds a lot like Alice Cooper but with a backyard babies style. I would love to see this band live they must put on a killer show. Just listening to “Rock Star,” I was swiveling in my chair. The energy pumping through those amps will make your hair fly and have the girl’s legs up in the air.
“Salt of the Earth” slows things down with a fantastic ballad in the true Guns ‘N’ Roses flare. The tune should have no problem making Crystal Pistol a household name. Their closest comparison is Gemini Five. Check “XXIII” it is similar to the Gemini Five song “Twenty Four Seven.”
Even some of the songs give you the feeling of the great Bon Scott on vocals. These boys are the real rockers and I am sure there will be no stopping them. The feature track is “Teenage Parasite” which brings the home run ball to Crystal Pistol. “Teenage Parasite” has all the right earmarks of style, which should make them a success. If these boys come to your town go see them. Just leave the kids at home!!!
