Eyefear was formed in 1994 in the “land down under” Australia. They played local shows with lead singer Jason Smart and entered Toyland Studios to record their debut CD “Edge of Existence.” The bandstarted getting rave reviews. After a long disappearance, EYEFEAR reemerged in 1997 as Jason Smart left the band. EYEFEAR was in luck they recruited former lead vocals of PEGAZUS Danny Cecati. It has been long awaited but finally EYEFEAR manage to put out their second CD in 2004 “9 Elements of Inner Vision” on Nightmare Records.
The new CD opens with instrumental keyboards for the first 30 seconds than the heavenly vocals of seasoned veteran Danny Cecati takes over. Who I must say is a great addition to EYEFEAR. “When Clouds Divide” is a superb track that accentuates guitarist Kosta Papazoglou.
Vocally and musically the band can match up with the great KAMELOT. The tracks are melodic with hints of keyboard which are not over emphasis on many progressive metal CD’s. Track-five is just as good “Dawn” almost sounding like a classical ballad with mellow to harsh vocals. “The Script of Sorrowed Tales” is a killer ballad that really shows the vocal style of Mr. Cecati. I almost took out a lighter just to get the right mood for this song. Excellent!!! “Beyond the Twilight” comes right back with a scorching power rocker.
This CD will be a great addition for any melodic metal fan.
