As I look at the cover, it reminds me of the band H.I.M. As I pop in the CD, pure pleasure hits me. The music is a mixture of both AOR and alternative, and it is outstanding. If the first song “Dive” is any indication of what the rest of the CD is like this could be Killer! “Dive” has all the makings of a hit. Mesmerizing keyboards, pumping melodic soft vocals -- this is truly a fantastic song.
Feiled is not all about image and these guys can make a huge impact on the music industry. They are already a top selling artist in their home land of Finland. Now they look to conquer the world and this CD could do it. These guys are a hit-making machine. The young women will melt just at the sight of FEILED.
“The Great Escape” is another great tune that starts off with piano style keyboards and bounces into a fantastic song. The voice of Anton Laurila will capture your mind and will make you focus on each and every song on “Midnight Poems”. His vocals do not pound out power because they are more of a finesse type vocal, slow and melodic. The song-writing and music is top notch.
“Frontier” is a ballad that oozes stardom. Anton sings during many points on the CD without or very little music behind him showing the confidence that he has in his voice. This is a truly explosive front man.
Please understand that when listening to this CD you should not expect power pop music thoughtout the eleven songs. There are some who might get bored with the slow songs on “Midnight Poems,” but all in all this is a great CD.
