With their debut release only months away, the Swedish duo of Hampus "Hank" Erix (vocals) and Freddie Allen (Drums) make up the sensation called HOUSTON and they release their debut single” Hold On” to the world. With additional vocal help by TALK OF THE TOWN’s Tommy Denander and Thomas Vikström and Mats Olausson known for his keyboard work with Yngwie Malmsteen, amongst others, they should rocket to the top in no time.
Reminiscent of bands like STARSHIP, PROPHET, JOURNEY, and SURVIVOR, HOUSTON has already mastered the vibe of greatness. I mean it’s only one track but it’s an explosive track. “Hold On” could be a classic of past greats but in a time of aggressive music this is the perfect taste to mellow the hearts. The essence of soaring guitars, soft keyboards and the sweet vocals of Hank make them a tasteful addition to the melodic rock world. I really wish I could hear more to make a determination on HOUSTON but by this one track this is a band to watch out for. I know once my writers Mark Balogh and David Felix read this review I will guarantee they will be headed to the HOUSTON MySpace page to check the song out and I hope our readers will do the same. This is just a KILLER song!
