What great heights this band has reached! Back in the early nineties when In Flames arrived with their three-song demo, who would have ever imagined that they would now be one of the top aggressive bands in a new era of music? After countless releases, festivals, and relentless touring in country after country, In Flames is back with their latest release, “Come Clarity.” Speed, thrash and melodic have all become household names when it comes to this band, and this album seals the deal. 

Anders Fridén’s vocals are impeccable from the first note to the last. The power on “Take This Life” is total meltdown; you can’t help snapping your neck and going into convulsions.  It’s a great song that has all the right elements to reap the benefits of a solid tune. I truly love the blending of harsh and melodic vocals on the part of Anders Fridén.
The dueling guitars of Jesper Strömblad and Björn Gelotte riddle the mind with just how talented they are; absolutely phenomenal material. 

The track “Leeches” sucks the soul from the body and may well become a classic at every show for In Flames. The song “Dead End” features a guest vocalist named Lisa Miskovsky, whose haunting voice changes the vibe of the song to a more Gothic style while still keeping with its grinding core. The title track “Come Clarity” will surprise some fans.  It’s a ripping ballad with killer guitar shredding, showing the versatility that is brought forth by the band.

Listening to this CD, I can say that In Flames will not only conquer the aggressive genre, but will also pull in fans of power metal with this release. Anders Fridén can mold your senses and bring you to aggression with his vocal stylings: Fantastic!!! This CD is totally killer and should be added to your collection immediately.
