Very ethereal, alternative, progressive rock in the vein of INCUBUS . Residing in the land of Oz (down under, not where the munchkins exist) and harboring a penchant for exotic melodies (which they emote in spades) MONKS OF MELLONWAH deliver effortlessly. Opener proper "Ghost Stories" is the Australian cousin to America's INCUBUS, sultry and spindly and just mysterious enough to retain an edge.

Elsewhere we find "Sailing Stories" a much more adventurous trek highlighted by an Egyptian motif from 2:05 to 2:29. This song is assuredly prog rock disguised with a radio friendly veneer and sheen.

Its ending is startling in how it stops so abruptly. A nice little surprise indeed. I surmise that this elaborate ensemble will stamp their footprint in music history like the kangaroos their country so harbors.
