MY EARS! MY EARS! Ok, ok…maybe it's not all that bad…but then again?!? That's exactly the feeling I got after trying to ingest MOONLIGHT COMEDY‘s, "The Life Inside" on LION records. And I tried - I really and truly tried to get something out of this CD and suffered through it 5 times over. I even invited our webmaster, Carlos Rodrigues, over to have a listen. His first reaction was “What the fuck was that ???” and I tend to agree with him.

I guess I should have taken the hint when I got to around track-6 while listening to it in my apartment and my poor dog actually “yelped,” jumped off the bed and headed for greener pastures. The CD is all over the place. There is no content, weak lyrics, and it goes nowhere. Every track is the same. I guess the best way to describe it is to take a Journey CD, a Metallica CD, an Alice Cooper CD, A Skid Row CD, an Yngwie CD, and a Slayer CD - throw in a little classical orchestra music from time to time, and just a hint of the “Training Montage” from the ROCKY IV soundtrack... and play them all AT THE SAME TIME!

The band itself seems to have no musical direction. Everybody just seems to be doing their own thing and while there are hints of some good musicianship, it tends to get buried in the mishmash. Lead singer Emiliano Germani's vocals leave much to be desired and would have Simon Cowell uttering his famous phrase, “That was absolutely ghastly.” As for the rest of the band, guitarist Simone Fiorletta, bassist Armando Pizzuti, drummer Andrea Scala and keyboardist Gianluigi Farina… what can I say? Maybe, just maybe if they all tried to work together instead of trying to over power one another, they wouldn't sound so confused and disoriented.

“The Life Inside” could definitely be a MOONLIGHT COMEDY. The lyrics are mundane at best, the music itself lacks character and composition, the arrangements are dreadful to say the least, and, overall, the CD simply ranges from being ridiculous to out right scary. PLEASE! Somebody stop the bleeding !!!
