While writing this review I sat back and thought how much music really makes the world a better place and finding new music around the world that generates friendships throughout all countries. For this release it all started with an e-mail from Ljubljana, Slovenia and a band called NETHERWORLD as they have released a three track EP in 2012 and are looking to garner a larger fan base as they try to reach a wider array of people around the world with their music.

RockEyez does not shun new bands or demos but it is a bit “luck of the draw” around here as a huge amount of bands submit material for review and it just happens NETHERWORLD hit the jackpot this time. As I clicked play on the computer for the opening track “Tale Of Your Fall” and then walked into another room listening to the song I had to come back to give it my full attention as it literally drew me back. I loved that opening guitar work that exploded with pure power; the adrenaline rush just pushed the level above the norm. The song seems simplistic but these youth already have the grasp of music theory. The musical content for a young band is overpowering and delightful. Vocally, Eva Škerlj Prosen’s voice is unique yet fits the mold of NETHERWORLD perfectly.
.
”Devils Bidding” was up next and once again the music really excels but I feel Eva needs to push the vocals to a higher range but still it was a good song. Rounding out the EP is “Away” and yet again the music for a young band will surely get them noticed. Eva does a much better job vocally on this one and Domen Gorjup kicks it up on  lead guitar. All the tracks offered here are musically excellent. At points it is vocally amazing but I would have preferred maybe a higher pitch during different points by Eva Škerlj Prosen on certain songs. Still, I look forward to the progress of the band as they are working on new material as we speak.

Band Lineup:
  • Eva Škerlj Prosen - Guitar, Vocals
  • Domen Gorjup - Lead Guitar, Scream
  • AnžeUrankar - Drums
  • UrošLjubic - Bass
