Every once in a while you catch the wave of a band that excites. It’s not often but finding that undiscovered gem makes it all worth it. The trio known as NUDE aren’t new to the scene with three discs already under their belt but they are about to explode on the scene with their upcoming disc “Fearless”. I have to applaud these boys for their dedication, as everything from recording and mastering, to website design and CD artwork and even management. It is all done by the band themselves!

The band started back in 2004 and hasn’t looked back. What caught my ear was their first single off the new disc called “Cry Sometime” which reminded me of SKILLET, and the catchy keyboards that opens the song. Well let’s start from the opening track “Hero”. NUDE sure knows how to write songs with catchy hooks and that is just one highlight.

These boys shun any kind of typical power pop band as they add dimensions that will tickle many genres. Swedish born Tony Karlsson’s lead vocals stand tall and with killer harmonies that should make NUDE rise to the top. Check out “Cry Sometimes”, their first single, which blows me away. I love the keyboards, the leads and throbbing bass lines. I’m sure it will make NUDE a household name if there is any justice! NUDE remind me of many but what will get you is the sensitivity on the tunes. One band that comes to mind is OASIS, who set fire back in the day NUDE has those same essences. They also bring a style of the band NEW MUZIK, an English synthpop group for the late Seventies.

You can’t deny for such a youthful identity NUDE has what it takes to lift the spirits of music fans worldwide. I’m not saying their music is a new stepping-stone but they certainly have the chops, writing ability and looks to bring it to the masses. I love the disc. I really didn’t hear any filler songs and the tunes pump you up. Check out “Imagination” and drummer Bobby Amaro’s time keeping behind the kit.

NUDE are a versatile trio that should take music to another level. Another killer tune is “Down To Die” which is mellow at times but the crunch catches you off guard plus the amazing harmonies will swallow you up.

And for me the most explosive track is the final track on the record, “Alive”. This track gave me chills It’s spiritual and as uplifting as a church hymn and is just a phenomenal song. It’s POWERFUL!

You gotta pick this one up. I loved all the songs and hope you support these guys too. Be sure to remember the name NUDE!
