With the self-titled debut of OUTLOUD back in 2009 and the excitement that was stirring RockEyez had the pleasure of reviewing that CD that skyrocketed to a 5 Star review.
Fast forward to 2011 and the excitement is in the air once again as the second coming of OUTLOUD’ new disk “Love Catastrophe” is due out July 22 on AOR Heaven. Will the fans be rejoicing or will they be a lull of disappointment. Well let’s check it out…
Busting nuts to the left busting nuts to the right, right off the bat these boys bring it to the masses as the excitement is back once again. “We Came To Rock” all I can feel is anthem with arena’s filled with crazed maniac fans screaming for OUTLOUD. These guys bring vintage sounds of the best 80’s rockers with fine technique of slicing guitars by Bob Katsionis / Tony Kash and the thunderous bass lines of Sverd T. Soth reach a high level. One word “Falling Rain” amazing! It has that tasty melodic rock sound with soaring guitar and some added solos. Chandler Mogel is just unbelievable if this don’t put OUTLOUD on the map of stardom the music industry is shot! Mogel has all the essences of a superstar, great vocals, good range with charisma and a guy that truly loves what he does. “Falling Rain” blows me away; just keep hitting repeat.
There you go “Waiting For Your Love” another blockbuster tune that starts off acappella and elevates, another hit that should reach the airwaves. Killer chorus!
“The Night That Never Ends” reminds me of the classic tunes of the 70’s. Mogel has that little tinge of soul to his voice that you would here at the hop back in the 70’s and what gives the song more depth is the keys by Bob Katsionis, same as Eddie Van Halen gave to “Jump”.
With sentimental acoustics strumming OUTLOUD get sensitive with “Someday”, a smooth ballad that clutches your senses. “Isolation Game” shows that OUTLOUD has the niche in writing amazing lyrics with phenomenal music that will set fire to the music world. There is not one song on “Love Catastrophe” that is even subpar; any track could be a single.
With all these great tunes here’s a smash in the mouth tune that throttles the neck bones. “Clean Hands” still holds that melodic touch but Bob Katsionis and Kash give you heavy duty licks, don’t think for one minute drummer Mark Cross goes unnoticed he’s just one of the entities in OUTLOUD smashing those drums.
Sweet musical sounds open the last track “Love Catastrophe” than rises to a pinnacle.
I can’t stress “Love Catastrophe” is a phenomenal release with a taste of NIGHT RANGER and so many others. You gotta put this in your collection!
