All I have been hearing is that Sweden is the mecca for sleaze rock/metal but now Baltimore, MD is on the map and who am I to judge. I’m kind of glad that now so close to home we have a band like SIN4SIN that can kick it up a notch. In 2011 the band released their first CD “Arrest Me” and it did fairly well but now they’re back again with new material which will be released only on vinyl and digitally. The vinyl release date is September 20 with the digital release date being August 3.
Titled “Good 4 The Body”, the new release has five tracks and you can hear the maturity of the band from their 2011 release. “Like Heaven” starts things off as the excitement begins. Brandon Hayden (vocalist) has a voice that can bring fans of many genres to their knees. He has quality of a seasoned veteran. The songs are well written as the musicianship is young but shows great superiority to others. “Through The Night” sure is a highlight for me and the background harmonies are killer. The song has the essence of past greats like THE ROMANTICS or even Corey Hart. Midway through the song #Chuck Stiletto’s guitar work kicks into gear and blasts off as Brandon Hayden pushes the vocals to the extreme.
“Booby Trapped” is in the same mold as THE BULLETBOYS’ “Smooth Up In Ya”. It starts off smooth and jumps to a pounding tune that has a bluesy vibe with hard-hitting guitar.
It’s not all about hard-hitting songs either as SIN4SIN get mellow with “December” which has tainted vibes of TESLA. Once again harmonies are a quality of the band and structure of songs are classy.
“Living in A Dream” starts off with the heavy bass lines of Chain Saw and kicks in to a party that rips and shreds. The song brings a bluesy style near the end of the track as drummer Cody Cook starts the annihilation that slams the door on a noble sophomore release.
