TARA’S SECRET a Rock band from the UK has released the CD “Tomorrow The World”. The CD has a dated 80’s sound with a strange flavor. At times, I would get bugged out because this band might be an acquired taste. (Maybe reborn?) The first cut,” Drive Me Home” has that pop sounding keyboard from the early 80’s, ala “Jump” from V.H , but in the vein of a Rick Springfield type of genre. I guess this is the best picture I can paint for you. The CD moves on with an up beat tempo song “I Believe” kind of jam band fun.

TARA’S SECRET does a real nice job on backup harmonies on the cruising song “Summer Days.” Moving on, the CD picks up with the rocker “King of Meville.” There is some decent guitar work on this cut; again very good backing vocals, unfortunately the lead vocals loose it here and there throughout the song--too bad!

TARA’S SECRET gives a good effort on the CD. What I think is missing is the utilization of the backing vocals. What I mean is take “Love Shy” there is nice harmonies going on, but would make this song that much better, is if the backup vocals shadowed the lead a bit more. The lead vocalist, Johnnie Trowbridge, has talent but he needs some help… you can hear him falling and sometimes his tone clashes with the music. Give him more support. The effort by TARA’S SECRET is noble. The songs are all right nothing great, but all right. The lyrics and melody lines on some songs could use some new life.

The rest of the CD does nothing for me. The closing song “The Light” is a nice slow power -ballad, again with excellent backing vocals. I read that TARA’S SECRET is recording new tunes as I write; hopefully I have given them some insight.

I’ll give them another go to see what comes next.

Stay tuned!
