Back in 2005 I stumbled across a band coming out of Sweden called CRASHDIET and really believed in the band and their music. CRASHDIET had many obstacles to hurdle before making the impact and now they are touring the world and have several albums under their belt. The good people over at Chipster PR firm sent me over a link for a young band coming out of New York City called TEMPT. Chipster has always been gracious to us at RockEyez, so I checked the band out.

As mentioned this is a young band led by two nineteen years olds, Zach Allen (lead vocals) and guitarist Harrison Marcello along with Zak Gross on bass and Jimmi Kane  on drums. TEMPT are working on their debut full-length CD containing 14 tracks and mixed by the legendary Michael Wagener. It will see the light of day this October.
For now, we will look at the bands 5 song EP to give you a little taste of what to expect from the full-length release this fall. This taster EP starts off with the title track “Under My Skin” and I feel that “vibe” right off the bat. Great harmonies and the vocals by Zach Allen are reminiscent of that 80’s sound with some Jeff Keith of TESLA mixed in. The thing that sets the mood is the background vocals and harmonies plus the killer solo by Harrison Marcello which just soars. It’s a very impressive introduction to the band.
“Use It Or Lose It” is another explosive track that has all the perfect elements that shows just being at a young age doesn’t mean you can’t make quality music. Hooks, guitar leads and the midsection of powerhouse drummer Jimmi Kane and bass master Zak Gross truly make this track shine.

“The Fight” shows Harrison Marcello handling the keyboards and the song is burned into my memory after just one listen. The great chorus will have the kiddies singing along and should make TEMPT an entity.

By no means is a TEMPT a one dimensional band and you can hear that on the melodic ballad “Time Won’t Heal”.  It’s simply stunning as Zach Allen’s vocals caress each note. What the most impressive thing about TEMPT to me is, that as polished as they are in the lyrics and music they still keep that raw sound throughout the disc and the harmonies just push them over the top.

Ending the disc is “Aamina” which just happens to be my highlight track. Talking about making your mark in music. This is the track that could set fire to TEMPT. It’s a hit maker with Harrison Marcello going off the hook on his guitar.
These guys are going to make an impact in the US and beyond if all is fair so pick up their new disc once available. Check their website and Facebook page regularly because you just might be looking at future Gods here!
